Welcome to My Site

I hope you’ll come back often. I will attempt to have something new every week or so until my feeble mind gives out (my wife thinks that will be soon). Without conscious effort, I found myself writing mature fiction books. I found the development of my stories and characters dictated the exploration of the relationships that evolved between my main characters. It was my intent to write adult material without the use of excessive profanity and gutter language. Since then, through the use of blogs, I have reworked my image and equally important, my genres. I am currently working on a series of short stories for young readers and have written and produced nine one-act plays, with more on tap.

As for my three books, I entered the area of self publishing with a broad range of misconceptions. I share my shortcomings in my blog and offer them up as a guide for others seeking to publish. Although not serious blunders, I'm certain that those I have made can be avoided if one is forewarned. I use some of my more pertinent blogs from 2009 as a guide for a seminar on the mysteries of self-publishing. If you are looking to publish, be prepared to wear many hats, for you will become more than an author. You will become a marketing guru, salesman, public speaker, your own agent… I'm sure there may be more hats out there. I'll let you know when I come across them.

I chose Trafford as my publisher, in Bloomington, Indiana. They have added a broad range of promotion and marketing programs for authors to consider, if one has enough money to pursue them. I published all three of my books with them and have found little room for complaint. Create Space also receives high marks from me for their efforts on behalf of another local author, whose book I review in my blog (book title: Dream Chaser).

Branching out even more, I have started submitting articles on the writing life and will expand my articles and blog entries to address additional topics. Stay tuned. You may view my other blog on Google at  http://bit.ly/gpBDN3

Thanks for reading…
